Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa seeks an Assistant Unit Manager for Genesis to support daily operations and lead staff in a residential program for children aged 5-13.

The role emphasizes safety, trauma-informed practice, and program integrity aligned with the agency’s mission. Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4 years in residential treatment (2 in leadership), TCI, CARE, RCYCP, and CPR/First Aid certifications; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, nursing, healthcare, mental health, education, or related field.
• 4 years’ experience in a residential treatment environment, 2+ in a supervisory role.
• TCI, CARE, RCYCP, and CPR/First Aid certifications are required or must be obtained.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervisory leadership within the Genesis unit to maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.
• Support the Unit Manager in directing day-to-day unit operations and program routines.
• Supervise direct care staff, orient/train, coach, assign work, and address performance concerns.
• Model TCI, CARE and trauma-informed care frameworks to guide staff practice.
• Ensure licensing requirements, policies, documentation, and incident reporting compliance.
• Coordinate staffing schedules, coverage, overtime, and daily assignments.
• Participate in staff meetings, treatment teams, admissions, and transitions.
