Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Vincent Villa, is seeking an Assistant Unit Manager for the Genesis unit to support daily operations and lead staff in a trauma-informed residential program for children ages 5–13.

The role offers a part-time schedule (20 hours/week) with weekend and weekday shifts, requiring strong supervisory and communication skills and a commitment to safety, stability, and positive outcomes for youth served.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field; experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• 4 years’ residential treatment experience; 2 of those in senior/supervisory roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory leadership within the Genesis unit to maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.
• Support the Unit Manager in daily operations and program standards.
• Supervise direct care staff: orient, train, coach, assign work, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
• Model TCI, CARE, and trauma-informed care to promote consistent practice and positive outcomes.
• Coordinate staffing, overtime, and scheduling to meet coverage and budget needs.
• Ensure DHS licensing, documentation, and incident reporting compliance.
