Job summary

Dorchester County in South Carolina is seeking a part-time Waste Center Attendant to monitor and screen waste and recyclables delivered by residents at county convenience centers, assist the public with proper containers, and maintain site appearance and safety.

Under close supervision, you will open/close centers, direct traffic, ensure containers are emptied, and maintain records. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
• Some related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing assigned convenience centers.
• Monitoring and screening waste and recyclables delivered by residents.
• Directing traffic at drop-off sites.
• Ensuring containers are emptied and spills cleaned.
• Maintaining accurate daily activity records.
• Answering telephones and providing information to callers.
