Job summary

Dorchester County is seeking a part-time Solid Waste Attendant to monitor and screen all waste and recyclable materials delivered by residents to county convenience centers. You will assist the public in placing materials in proper containers and help with sorting and loading recyclables.

Responsibilities include directing traffic, ensuring containers are emptied, maintaining clean sites, and providing training to workers as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Some related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and screen all waste and recyclable materials at county convenience centers.
• Direct traffic at drop-off sites and ensure equipment is maintained.
• Assist public in placing materials in proper containers and sort recyclables.
• Maintain records of daily activities and report volumes for scheduling.
