Job summary

The City of Anna, Texas is seeking a friendly Recreation Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of community programs, camps, classes, and events. This part-time role focuses on participant engagement, facility readiness, safety, and positive experiences for all ages.

You will assist with registrations, attendance, check-ins, and day-to-day operations, while working with instructors, volunteers, and vendors.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; paid or volunteer recreation experience preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
CPR, First Aid and AED certifications preferred or obtained within six months.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation, implementation, supervision of programs and events.
Lead or assist with games, crafts, sports and enrichment activities.
Support event setup, operations, and breakdown, including signage and vendor areas.
Welcome participants and respond to questions in a courteous and professional manner.
Assist with registrations, attendance, waivers, rosters, and routine reports.
Set up spaces for cleanliness, accessibility, readiness, and safety; manage equipment.
Support athletic programs through check-in, equipment distribution, and game-day operations.
Assist instructors, officials, volunteers, and report concerns to a supervisor.
Distribute promotional materials and enforce program rules and safety policies.
Respond to incidents, assist with payments and administrative duties as assigned.
