Job summary

The City of Falls Church's Recreation and Parks Department is recruiting for a part-time Recreation Leader at the Falls Church Community Center to support a variety of programs and events. This on-site position requires evening and weekend shifts; staff support special events such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Fall Festival, and Holiday Craft Show.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (some college in recreation/related field preferred).
• Experience in leading recreation activities with diverse age groups.
• Customer service experience required.
• First aid training or class within six months of employment preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service to visitors at the front desk and via email/telephone; inform patrons about Community Center policies.
• Assist patrons registering for programs/activities and provide information/supervision of facility rentals.
• Facilitate check-in for open gym users and monitor open gym sessions.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as meetings, correspondence, data entry, answering calls, greeting visitors.
• Open/close and maintain a safe program environment; serve as supervisor in charge of the facility.
• Administer first aid as required and complete injury/incident reports.
• Perform other tasks as required.
