Job summary

Manhattan University seeks a part-time Learning Specialist in Reading and Writing to support student learning under the Center for Academic Success (CAS). The role includes writing consultation, English language support, and helping students develop reading and executive functioning skills.

Responsibilities involve tutoring, executive functioning coaching, assessment, and reporting. Candidates should have a Master’s degree and experience with diverse student populations and English Language

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of reading and writing pedagogy.
• Experience teaching college students.
• Experience working with English Language Learners.
• Ability to work efficiently with diverse populations.
• Strong organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one academic success planning and tutorial sessions in Reading and Writing and English Language Learning.
• Provide individualized coaching for executive functioning: time management, organization, planning, prioritization, task initiation, self-monitoring, and study strategies.
• Assess student learning needs to develop and implement individualized educational plans and teach college success strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of students served and progress; generate reports for campus stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with departmental and campus stakeholders about student needs and progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
