Job summary

A higher education institution is seeking a Part-Time Radiologic Science Program Instructor in Albany. The instructor will assist with meeting accreditation requirements, precept clinical rotations, and evaluate student performance. Ideal candidates should be certified radiologic technologists with at least 2 years of clinical experience and an Associate's Degree. Qualifications

  • Current Certification as a registered radiologic technologist: RT(R)(ARRT).
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical experience as a registered radiologic technologist.
  • Previous experience as a radiography program clinical instructor or preceptor preferred but not required.

  • Assisting in special activities.
  • Maintaining course objectives and reporting progress.

  • Serve as a member of the program Advisory Committee.
  • Participation in and meeting specific program accreditation standards/essentials.
  • Maintain current professional credentials and knowledge of the professional discipline.
  • Maintain appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Program Director.
  • Supervision of clinical learning events.
  • Complete all clinical preceptor training and maintain current standards.
  • Assist with the efforts to attract and retain students.
  • Participate in the assessment and revision of the RADS program and course materials.

Job Summary

Part-time faculty within the Radiologic Science Program are responsible for assisting the Program Director and Clinical Director with meeting and maintaining accreditation requirements, precepting clinical rotations, and assisting with student performance and success.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluating lab skills and assisting with instruction of skills.
  • Precepting clinical rotations including traveling to and between assigned clinical facilities to observe and evaluate learners during their clinical training.
  • Assisting in special activities.
  • Assist with the instruction of students in RADS lab skills and performing skills evaluation to maintain course objectives and reporting progress.
  • Attend program meetings, participate in continuing education workshops, and contribute to program evaluation.
  • Serve as a member of the program Advisory Committee.
  • Participation in and meeting specific program accreditation standards/essentials.
  • Maintain current professional credentials and knowledge of the professional discipline.
  • Maintain appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development.

  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to manage clinical rotations and instructing, evaluating, and supervising the students in the area with various imaging procedures and other techniques as needed.
