Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma and ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology Program; Bachelor’s preferred.
• ARRT certification.
• Current Maryland licensure to practice Radiation Therapy.
• At least one year of experience as a radiation therapy therapist.
• Experience with linear accelerators, CT simulators, and HDR therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ionizing radiation per physician prescription and note changes during treatment.
• Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy.
• Assess patient condition from medical documentation and observe reactions.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner.
• Participate in simulation and mold room procedures.
• Solve problems arising from routine setups.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations.
• Prepare room and equipment per prescriptions and immobilization parameters.
