Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Maryland is seeking a Radiation Therapist to administer ionizing radiation therapy per physician prescription. You will collaborate with the physics team and oncologists in treatment planning and simulation, contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered care approach.

The role requires ARRT certification, MD licensure, and a high school diploma with an ARRT-approved program; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and ARRT approved Radiologic Technology Program completion.
• ARRT certification.
• Current Maryland state licensure to practice radiation therapy.
• At least one year of experience as a therapist in a radiation oncology facility preferred.
• Experience using linear accelerators with multi-leaf collimators, CT simulators, and HDR therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescription, noting any changes to prescription during course of Rx.
• Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy and completeness.
• Assesses patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reaction resulting from treatment.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner.
• Participate in simulation and mold room procedures.
• Solve problems that arise with routine set-ups.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations.
• Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices and treatment parameters.
