Job summary

The City of Maywood is seeking a Part-time Public Works Worker to perform a variety of maintenance tasks within the Public Works division. duties include bulky item pickup, landscaping, painting, and basic repair work as part of a crew.

Essential functions cover safety, tool operation, record keeping, and communicating with city staff and the public. A valid CA driver's license is required by hire and ongoing; work may involve exposure to weather and physical labor.

Qualifications

• Any combination of equivalent education, training and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
• At least one year of work experience in a maintenance related field.
• Equivalent to High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid California Class C driver's license is required by the date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Bulky item pick up throughout city limits from streets, alleys, and city-owned properties.
• Weeds mitigation, small tree trimming, curb and gutter clearance, curb painting and crosswalk painting.
• Assists in resolving city staff facility requests and concerns (e.g., replacing light bulbs, fixtures, door issues).
• Performs labor in construction and maintenance of projects as part of a crew.
