Job summary

City of Lynwood is seeking a versatile team player for part-time/at-will Maintenance Worker positions in the Public Works Department. The role covers maintenance of streets, parks, and facilities, operating light vehicles, and graffiti removal.

A valid California driver’s license and willingness to work irregular hours are required. We anticipate multiple openings and a need to maintain a qualified list for current and future vacancies, with a filing deadline and potential non-benefited status.

Qualifications

• One year of prior experience performing heavy laboring tasks is required.
• Possession of an appropriate California driver's license issued by the DMV is required and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of semi-skilled manual labor tasks in maintenance, repair, upkeep and construction of streets, parks, and facilities.
• Operate City vehicles and light trucks and use power and hand tools.
• Remove graffiti and perform cleaning of public right-of-ways; assist in painting and maintenance restoration.
