Job summary

The City of Middleton Public Library seeks a part-time Library Assistant to join our Adult Services team. The role focuses on programming, collection development, and publicity, with a creative and collaborative outlook and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year in public library services or related field.
• Access to transportation for job duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional customer service, assisting with reference questions, program info, and library resources.
• Manage circulation services, registering new cardholders, updating accounts, processing holds, and collecting fines.
• Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, room reservations, collection maintenance, and ensuring a safe environment.
• Help patrons with technology needs, such as computers, photocopiers, and personal devices.
• Assist with library programs, outreach, promotional materials, and assigned projects.
• Participate in library committees and initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
