Job summary

The Middleton Public Library in Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to join our Adult Services team. The role focuses on programming, collection development, and publicity.

The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and has excellent customer service skills. This position offers pro-rated PTO and fringe benefits as part of the WI Retirement System and insurance options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year in public library services or related field.
• Access to transportation for job duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional customer service, assisting with reference questions and library resources.
• Manage circulation services, including registering new cardholders, updating accounts, holds, and fines.
• Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and room reservations.
• Help patrons with technology needs and devices.
• Assist with library programs, outreach, and promotional materials.
• Participate in library committees and initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
