Lake Superior YMCA in Hermantown, MN is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.

Responsibilities include delivering prepared lessons, supervising aides, maintaining records, and upholding YMCA safety policies while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for youth and families. This role offers growth opportunities and the chance to contribute to community well-being through aquatic programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16.
• Certifications: CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid, and Oxygen.
• YMCA Swim Instructor v6 Certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Instructs swimming lessons with prepared lesson plans.
• Trains and supervises class aides as assigned.
• Builds relationships with students and parents and promotes program involvement.
• Maintains attendance and progress records.
• Follows YMCA safety policies and completes incident reports as needed.
