Job summary

Acelero Learning in Philadelphia is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to cover Head Start classrooms for 3–4 year-olds. The role involves collaboration with another teacher to manage 14–20 children, following the curriculum, and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

The position is on an as-needed basis across multiple locations in the county. A HS diploma, physical exam, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to develop literacy, numeracy, language, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance strategies.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner and collaborates with co-teachers.
• Encourages family involvement and builds relationships with families.
• Adheres to center policies and schedules; communicates schedule changes as needed.
• Participates in meetings, events, and required trainings.
