Job summary

Acelero Learning Delaware- White Oak Center is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher to support a Head Start classroom for children ages 3 to 4. This as-needed role covers a second teacher and ensures a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will implement the curriculum, support literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development, maintain ratios, involve families, and participate in required meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences that advance literacy, numeracy and language development.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a caring, supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in the Head Start program and relationships with families.
• Works with other teachers in the classroom and center.
• Follows center policies on health, safety, nutrition, and operations.
• Reports to work on time and communicates schedule changes to the Center Director.
