Job summary

Acelero Learning Delaware- White Oak Center is seeking a Substitute Preschool Teacher for a Head Start classroom serving 3 to 4-year-olds. The role is on an as-needed basis, covering various locations, and involves collaborating with another teacher to maintain classroom operations for 14 to 20 children.

You will follow the curriculum, support literacy and numeracy readiness, ensure a safe environment, engage families, and participate in trainings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences that advance literacy, numeracy and language development.
• Establishes and maintains a safe, healthy learning environment with proper adult-child supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance approaches.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in the Head Start program.
• Works effectively with other teachers in the classroom and center.
• Follows policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
