Job summary

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a part-time PreK Counts Assistant Teacher Float at the Smith Playground Center. Schedule is Monday–Friday 12:00 PM–5:00 PM to support preschool-aged children and maintain proper teacher coverage.

The role involves stepping into different classrooms, supervising children, and partnering with families and staff to ensure safe, nurturing care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA Certification required.
• 2+ years of experience with children preferred.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility.
• Ability to keep information private.
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules.
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Step into different classrooms as needed to help with coverage and maintain ratio.
• Support daily routines and classroom activities.
• Provide active supervision at all times to keep children safe.
• Build and maintain relationships with children, families, co-workers and administrators.
• Follow and adhere to the responsibilities outlined by the lead teacher for the classroom.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized environments.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

CDA Certification

2+ years of experience with children

Strong teamwork
