Job summary

Wonderspring is seeking a part-time PreK Counts Assistant Teacher Float to support the Smith Playground Center. The role involves covering multiple classrooms, maintaining ratios, and assisting with daily routines for preschool-aged children.

The position runs Monday–Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, CDA certification, and be able to obtain required clearances and health screening prior to employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDA Certification required.
• 2+ years of experience with children preferred.
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Step into different classrooms to provide coverage and maintain ratio.
• Support daily routines and classroom activities.
• Provide active supervision at all times to keep children safe.
• Build relationships with children, families, co-workers and administrators.
• Follow and adhere to the responsibilities outlined by the lead teacher for the classroom.

About the Position

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking dedicated team members to support our Smith Playground Center as a part-time PreK Counts Assistant Teacher Float. The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

PreK Counts Assistant Teacher Float

This role provides support throughout our center working with preschool aged children while helping to ensure consistent care and coverage throughout the center.

• Step into different classrooms as needed to help with coverage and maintain ratio.
• Support daily routines and classroom activities
• Provide active supervision at all times to keep children safe
• Build and maintain relationships with children, families, co-workers and administrators.
• Follow and adhere to the responsibilities outlined by the lead teacher for the classroom.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized environments

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• CDA Certification required
• 2+ years of experience working with children, infants and toddlers preferred
• Strong teamwork and flexibility
• Ability to keep information private
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.
