Job summary

Sonoma State University seeks a part-time, temporary Program Assistant to support Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search participants in grades 6–12. Under supervision of the site Program Manager and Associate Director, this role provides academic, operational, and motivational support and coordinates activities at Fort Bragg High School and partner sites.

Travel across Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties is required; evenings or weekends may be needed for recruitment, reporting, or summer

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience with diverse participant populations, including at‑risk, low‑income, first‑generation.
• Professional communication with students, families, school partners and professionals.
• Typing proficiency and Microsoft Office and Google Apps skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred and fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, operational, and motivational support to Upward Bound and ATS participants (grades 6–12).
• Assist with programmatic needs to meet annual objectives and coordinate activities.
• Travel to high schools in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties; occasional evenings/weekends.
