Job summary

Sonoma State University is hiring a part-time, temporary Pre-Collegiate Program Assistant to provide academic, operational, and motivational support to Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search participants in grades 6 through 12. The role reports to the site Program Manager with input from the Associate Director of Pre-Collegiate Programs.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with a diverse participant population, including those from at-risk, low-income, first-generation backgrounds.
• Proficiency in typing and with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
• The incumbent must successfully clear a fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, operational, and motivational support to Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search program participants in grades 6 through 12.
• Assist with programmatic needs to support individual programs to meet annual objectives.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, schools and business professionals.
• Support program coordination and administration as required.
