Job summary

Sonoma State University is seeking a Part-time, Casual Worker to assist with the Sonoma and Napa Region Pre-Collegiate programs. The role supports Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search participants (grades 6–12) with academic, operational, and motivational activities under supervision.

The position requires two years of relevant experience, strong communication, typing, and Microsoft/Google suite skills, and fingerprint clearance. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working with a diverse participant population, including those from at-risk, low-income, first-generation backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with participants in grades 6 through 12, parents, schools, and business professionals.
• Proficiency in typing and with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and/or Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must successfully clear a fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, operational, and motivational support to Upward Bound and Academic Talent Search program participants in grades 6–12.
• Assist with programmatic needs to meet annual objectives.
• Coordinate with Program Manager and Associate Director for direction and priorities.
• Maintain confidentiality, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing work environments.
