Job summary

TREK Development Group in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Part-Time Porter for Thomas Village (66 units). The role focuses on groundskeeping, housekeeping, and basic maintenance to ensure curb appeal and operational functionality.

You will provide customer service to residents, assist with maintenance requests, and help with safety and logs. 1-3 years experience preferred; ability to use hand and power tools; must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service through groundskeeping, housekeeping, and communication.

  • Perform janitorial duties across buildings and common areas.
  • Assist maintenance staff with maintenance requests.
  • Keep logs of activities and report incidents.
  • Ensure safety with OSHA compliance and report unsafe conditions.
  • Work with monthly budget ledger to ensure bills coded and paid.

We are currently seeking an engaged and passionate professional to serve as Part-Time Porter to Thomas Village with a combined 66 units. The Porter is responsible for performing routine and preventative care for our downtown properties to ensure professional appearance, curb appeal and operational functionality while maintaining a professional relationship with all residents and staff members. The focus of this job centers on multi-tasking and commercial cleaning while producing quality results.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide exceptional customer service through high quality groundskeeping, housekeeping, and communication.
  • Maintain building accessibility and appearance, pick up litter, leaf removal and other debris. May include some landscaping/grounds keeping, cleaning, power washing, exterior painting, snow removal, etc.
  • Perform janitorial duties - including cleaning buildings, office, and common area spaces, including amenities, hallways, stairwells, and elevators.
  • Complete a wide variety of maintenance and repairs in addition to keeping accurate logs of activities
  • Assist onsite maintenance and management staff with various maintenance request.
  • Maintain safe and effective workshop and workplace environment, including compliance with OSHA and state Worker’s Compensation rules and regulations, and report any acts, incidents, or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate conduct.
  • Examining the monthly budget operating report and detailed general ledger to assure all bills paid and accurately coded and necessary changes provided timely to accounting.
  • Any additional duties or responsibilities assigned by appropriate supervisor.
Education & Experience:
  • 1-3 years housekeeping, groundskeeping or general maintenance experience preferred
  • Must possess the ability and dexterity necessary to work with fine tools or equipment with or without accommodations
  • Ability to use hand tools (such as hammer, saw, wrenches, etc.) and knowledge of power tools and motorized vehicular repair, maintenance and operations
  • Must communicate effectively at all levels and have a commitment to professional standards
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Be able to climb ladders to necessary heights to trim trees, change light bulbs, or perform other duties and carry equipment and supplies to maintenance project areas
  • Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trade skills experience is preferred
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • The employee is regularly required to move around the building or site
  • May require travel dependent on business needs
  • Must work under deadlines and ability to meet deadlines
  • Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 70 pounds across site
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside and outside the property buildings
