Job summary

National University invites applications for part-time Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing clinical faculty to conduct clinicals for the BSN program at placement sites in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will teach and supervise students, delivering feedback and supporting student engagement and success.

Required: MSN from a regionally accredited institution and at least one year of clinical nursing or teaching experience in PMH nursing, plus CA RN license.

Qualifications

• MSN from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least one year of clinical bedside nursing experience in Psychiatric–Mental Health Nursing within the last 5 years as a RN providing direct patient care, OR at least one year of RN level clinical teaching experience within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Lead sessions at clinical placement sites.
• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals).
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
• Some indirect patient care is also performed in the skills and simulation lab.
