Mental Health/Psych Part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty - Southern CA

Chamberlain University is seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors to teach students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at our Irwindale, CA campus. This on-site role involves mentoring students in inpatient clinical settings, bridging classroom learning with real-world patient care. Clinicals are scheduled in the Panorama City area, requiring one 8-hour weekday shift per week during each 8-week session at our clinical partner sites.

Specialization in Mental Health/Psych Nursing

Students will demonstrate nursing skills in an inpatient healthcare center, focusing on mental health issues such as anxiety, self-concept, thought disorders, mood alterations, addiction, organic brain dysfunction, abuse, and violence. No teaching experience is required; nurses with solid clinical experience and a completed MSN are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:
  • Implementing the college's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
  • Supervising and evaluating nursing students during clinical care.
  • Developing clinical assignments tailored to students' knowledge and skills.
  • Providing feedback and remediation as needed.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participating in program development and college initiatives.
  • Serving as a professional role model and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Master's in Nursing (MSN) or DNP/PhD in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered California nursing license.
  • Active BLS certification.
  • At least two years of recent professional nursing experience, including instruction.
Compensation and Additional Information:
