Job Description

BioLife is committed to creating meaningful part‑time opportunities for team members. This role is truly part‑time, with most shifts lasting 4–6 hours a day, 3+ days per week. You will work as a plasma donor screener and phlebotomist under the supervision of the Plasma Center Manager.

About the role

Every day you will meet donors, motivate them, and collect high‑quality plasma for life‑changing medicines. A strong commitment to customer service and quality is expected.

Responsibilities
  • Answer phones, greet donors and focus on their needs while ensuring donor and team safety.
  • Screen new and repeat donors, take and record donor vital signs and finger‑stick results.
  • Use the Donor Information System, prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
  • Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and initiate changes to center processes using company‑approved procedures.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold a current California phlebotomy or laboratory certification: CPT1, CPT2, CLS, or MLT.
  • Ability to walk/stand for the entire shift; lift up to 5 lb routinely and occasionally up to 32 lb (rarely 50 lb).
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
  • Fine‑motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
  • Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience of at least one year in a customer or patient‑facing role is helpful.
  • Because of the risk of bloodborne pathogens, 90 % of work tasks require prolonged glove wear.
Compensation and Benefits

U.S. starting hourly wage: $19.50 (subject to state or local minimum wage requirements). U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits program including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. Eligible employees can accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation and up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year.
