Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Part-time Lab Associate in Boston to collect blood specimens and non-blood samples, deliver them to the laboratory, and provide information about tests according to procedures.

The role requires phlebotomy training, PBT certification, and preferred LIS/EMR proficiency, with a 20-hour workweek schedule (Mon-Fri, 8am–12pm). Training and PPE adherence are emphasized for safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a Phlebotomy technical training program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience or externship preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Experience with LIS/EMR systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens for laboratory testing using venipuncture, skin puncture, and heel or finger sticks.
• Collects non-blood specimens such as urine or sputum.
• Verify test requisitions and labeling for accuracy before collection.
