Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician for its Laboratory Draw Center across the Treasure Valley. If you have phlebotomy or lab tech experience, you can make a difference by accurately collecting samples and supporting clerical duties.

The role involves a 20-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, 7am to noon, with responsibilities including specimen labeling, data entry, and coordinating with the lab team to ensure timely reporting of results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Good working knowledge of medical terminology and computers.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples and correctly identify patients.
• Transport specimens and perform related clerical and computer functions.
• Register, order, proper collection, labeling, processing and distribution of specimens for lab testing.
• Utilize computer programs and perform data entry.
• Serve as the central communications point for the laboratory and ensure specimen quality.
