Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation is seeking a Part-Time Specimen Collector - Phlebotomy in Sandston, VA. The role involves collecting biological specimens at client sites, maintaining chain of custody, and assisting with billing-related verification.

Schedule: Mon/Wed 9:00 AM–2:00 PM and Tue/Thu 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (up to 25 hours/week). Starting pay is $15+ per hour, with state/local variations. Includes a total rewards package with PTO and floating holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training program or 3 years blood collection experience.
• Must meet state phlebotomy certification requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with confidentiality.
• Medical field experience preferred; customer service skills essential.
• Positive attitude in patient interactions; strong communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; multitasking ability.
• Basic computer skills: email, web navigation, credentials, USB ports, file management, security.

Responsibilities

• Collect biological specimens (blood) at client sites.
• Maintain collection process integrity and chain of custody.
• Obtain initial insurance verification for billing.
• Package specimens for shipment.
• Follow SOPs for sample collection.
• Ensure samples are labeled, sealed, and requisitions complete.
• Use ELR FLUID for submissions.
• Maintain HIPAA training and other compliance trainings.
• Communicate with client andSales team; support marketing goals.
• Represent Aegis professionally and participate in process improvements.
