Esse Health is seeking a Part-time Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for the Central Lab in the South County area, with shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection, patient identification, and documentation in NextGen.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or GED; a phlebotomy or medical assisting certificate is preferred. Interact professionally with patients and the healthcare team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Formal training indicated by a High School diploma or GED.
• Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Willingness to prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and other samples from a large number of patients varying in age and health status.
• Properly identifying patients, label each sample following lab protocols, and work closely with the lab to make sure that the proper samples are collected.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen).
• Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team.
