Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Edison, NJ seeks a Phlebotomist II for part-time hours, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM with rotational weekends. You will collect specimens, assist with processing and enter data in lab systems.

Requires three years of phlebotomy experience, high school diploma, and willingness to work weekends. Benefits available for part-time employees; eligible for annual incentive plans and other programs.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (California, Nevada and Washington may require).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory and sanitizing.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.
