Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Torrington, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist I. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM with rotational Saturdays 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pay range is $21.60–$23.15 per hour, and performance bonuses may be offered.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, labeling, data entry, and maintaining logs. Requirements include a high school diploma and phlebotomy training or certification preferred; English communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in select locations.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments as required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones and emails.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data; maintain logs.
