Job summary

BioLife is seeking a Phlebotomist for a part-time role at our Chesapeake, VA location. The job involves donor screening, phlebotomy, and supporting plasma center operations with a strong emphasis on customer service and quality.

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and be expected to greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor donors, and help with equipment setup and troubleshooting. Training is provided and evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting up to 32 lbs., rarely 50 lbs.
• Glove use due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• 1+ year in customer or patient-facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines.
• Monitor donors during donation and manage reactions.
• Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with disposal.
• Record donor vital signs and enter data into the DIS.
• Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors via Debit Card system.
• Contribute to center process improvements following company procedures.
