Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant to help a young man in Barry access the community and enjoy activities he likes. He has learning disabilities and can be quiet at first, with limited awareness of road dangers, so close supervision is needed.

Hours are 4 per week in the afternoons, paid at £15.45 per hour. A full driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and business-use car insurance are required; a DBS check and references

Qualifications

• Must hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
• Must possess business-use car insurance.
• Willing to undergo a DBS check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Accompany me on community outings and activities.
• Drive to places such as the beach, farms, bowling, cinema, and shops.
• Provide support, encouragement, and socialize with me in the community.
• Assist with personal care and safety as needed.
• Promote independence and help explore new hobbies.
