Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a boy in my twenties living with my family in the Barry area. I have learning disabilities and I can be quiet at first. I have limited awareness of road dangers, so close supervision is needed. I like animals especially horses beach. I enjoy visiting the beach, farms, going bowling, to the cinema and penny arcades. I like eating in McDonalds and Burger King.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support me to access the community with activities I enjoy.

HOURS OF WORK

4 hours per week, to be worked in the afternoons

RATES OF PAY

£15.45 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

• Accompany me on community outings and activities.
• Drive me to places such as the beach, farms, bowling, the cinema, penny arcades, McDonald's, and Burger King.
• Provide support and encouragement while in the community.
• Assist with personal care, including helping him bathe once a week
• Ensure his safety at all times, particularly as he has limited awareness of road dangers.
• Promote his independence and social interaction.
• Help him explore new hobbies and activities

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
