Job summary

Southwest Human Development is seeking a part-time Assistant Fabricator for the ADAPT Shop in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports pediatric therapy equipment production, preparing materials, and operating fabrication tools.

Responsibilities include assembling components, performing quality checks, and maintaining a safe workshop. Requires high school diploma, basic tool experience, and AZ driver's license with clearance cards. Approximately 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Experience using basic hand tools and measuring devices required.
Possess an insured & registered vehicle and a valid AZ driver’s license.
Des/Arizona fingerprint clearances required.

Responsibilities

Assist the Fabricator in manufacturing pediatric therapy equipment and assistive technology products.
Set up and operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to process wood, plastic, foam, and other materials.
Assemble components into finished products according to specifications.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure safety, appearance, and functionality.
Maintain tools, equipment, and shop in safe working condition.
Help manage inventory of materials, supplies, and shop consumables.
Keep workshop clean, organized, and safe.
Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
Identify opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency, and quality.
Prepare for and participate in supervision with direct supervisor.
