Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Part-time Patient Transporter in Camden to move patients between departments, assist with mobility and ensure safety. The role requires positive demeanor and strong communication, with a focus on reliable service within a busy hospital environment.

You will coordinate with the transport team, help maintain equipment, and support nurses and diagnostic staff as needed. A High School diploma is required, CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have strong verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments/units, ensuring patient identification, comfort and safety and assisting in lifting, moving and positioning.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers; initiate action when repair is required and check oxygen supply, replenishing regulators as necessary.
• Coordinate with other transporters to ensure smooth flow of operations and communicate patient information to nurses and testing departments as needed.
