Job summary

Virtua Health is actively seeking a Hospital Transporter to move patients between departments, ensuring safety and proper patient identification and handoff. The role requires teamwork and adherence to hospital protocols in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers a full-time schedule with potential for 2nd shift coverage, competitive hourly wages, and benefits. A courteous, safety-focused attitude is essential to support patient care across our New Jersey facilities.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have strong verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments/units.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs/stretchers and initiate appropriate action when repair is required (check supply of oxygen, replenish and change regulators as necessary).
• Coordinates with other transporters based on patient schedules to ensure smooth flow of transport operations; communicates patient information to nurses and testing (diagnostic) departments as necessary.
