Job summary

Springborn Staffing seeks a professional Patient Service Specialist for an immediate temp-to-hire role with our downtown Portland client’s healthcare practice. This part-time position (28 hours/week) offers a Hybrid schedule after training and requires Monday shift with flexible other days.

The role focuses on answering calls, triaging inquiries, and completing tasks in the EPIC EMR system, including referrals, authorizations, and queue management while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Prior administrative healthcare experience is required.
• Office administration and customer service experience required.
• Professional and compassionate attitude when assisting patients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems required.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer and triage phone calls, messages, and appointments.
• Process referrals and insurance authorizations in EPIC EMR.
• Manage in-baskets and respond to patient and team requests in EPIC.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and care teams to keep clinic operations efficient.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies.

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented individual to join our client's healthcare practice in an immediate temp-to-hire Patient Service Specialist opportunity in the heart of downtown Portland.

This is a great opportunity for candidates seeking a part-time schedule or a future hybrid arrangement, working with a great team of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Position Details:

• Part-Time (28 hours per week) - Mondays required, other days flexible depending on candidate's ideal schedule
• Hybrid schedule offered after training is completed (approx. 5-6 months after starting)
• $19.75 - $23.87 per hour compensation range

Essential Duties:

• Answer and triage phone calls, messages, and appointment inquiries
• Completing work queues within EPIC EMR – referral processing, insurance authorizations, managing missed calls from patients, etc.
• Completing in-baskets for the practice within EPIC – Responding to messages/requests from patients, providers, nurses/MAs, and other departments
• Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and care teams to maintain efficient clinic operations
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to the network's policies and procedures

Experience:

• Prior administrative healthcare experience is required
• Prior experience in office administration and customer service is required
• Professional and compassionate attitude to assist patients of the practice
