Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech Float. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, you will perform basic patient care tasks, monitor vitals, assist with daily living activities and support unit workflow in a busy hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR-BLS certification. Nursing students or CNAs with clinical rotation may qualify. Flexible, team-oriented environment with a focus on patient-first care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
• CPR – Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming and eating.
• Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multi-tasking under stressful conditions.
• Serves as liaison between patient care units and other patient-related departments.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation, or CNA, or CMA, or EMT
