Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital and Valley West Hospital are seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician Float to support nursing staff across units. The role involves assisting patients with basic care, monitoring vitals, and communicating effectively with the care team.

Required are a High School diploma or equivalent and CPR-BLS. Nursing students with clinical rotation, CNA, CMA, or EMT credentials are welcomed; phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic nursing care activities performed under RN supervision.
• Monitor vital signs and record intake and output.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing tasks as delegated by an RN.
• Monitor vital signs and document findings.
• Assist with bathing, grooming and eating.
• Report changes to nursing staff promptly.
• Maintain clean and organized patient rooms.
• Prioritize unit work and adapt to changing needs.
• Liaise between units and related departments.
• Answer calls and relay information to staff/families.
• Support overall unit workflow with charge RN.
• Validate daily census lists as needed.
