Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 CPT coding, medical terminology, and/or revenue cycle knowledge.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge and experience with a variety of information systems, spreadsheet and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and timely, collecting biographical data per check-in process across departments (ER, outpatient, labs).
• Schedule appointments and perform pre-registration tasks, collect insurance information, and ensure billing accuracy.
• Answer phones, direct calls, and relay information in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Prepare patient liability estimates for pre-service and walk-ins.
• Coordinate with Pre-service Center and physician offices for authorizations when required.
• Escort patients as needed and communicate delays to patients.
