Qualifications

• Must have bachelor's degree as a baseline education.
• PA certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of an accredited pathology assistant training program or graduation within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in anatomical/surgical pathology.
• Preferred: Master's degree in Biology, Medical Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination and prosection of tissue for histology for surgical and autopsy pathology.
• Assist pathologists, and support intraoperative consultations and specimen triage collection.
• Serve as a key contact for pathologists and histology staff to identify workflow improvements.
• participate in instruction of residents, fellows, or students.
