University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, seeks a Part-time Pathologists' Assistant to support gross examination and prosection for histology. Performs high complexity tasks and assists pathologists in intraoperative consultations, while contributing to resident and student education.

The role is based in Glendale, CA with an hourly rate range of $71.10–$86.77, part-time schedule Monday–Friday 5:00 pm–10:00 pm, offering a competitive salary and benefits

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree Specialized/technical training Pathology
• Minimum Certifications: PA certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology, or must obtain certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Addtional Education Requirements Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
• Minimum Experience: 1 year
• Minimum Skills: Completion of an accredited pathology assistant training program, or must graduate within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Education: Master's degree Biology Or Master's degree Medical Technology Or Master's degree in related field(s)
• Preferred Experience: 3 years
• Preferred Skills: Three years of proven, documented experience in anatomical/surgical pathology.

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists with gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination of surgical and autopsy pathology.
• Assist with intraoperative consultations, including fresh specimen and triage research tissue collection.
• Participate in the instruction of residents, fellows, and/or students.
