Job summary

Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Pathologists’ Assistant to join its team. The role supports a surgical pathology team, handles gross examination and prosection duties for histology, and assists with intraoperative consultations and resident instruction.

Qualifications

• Minimum Skills: Completion of an accredited pathology assistant training program.

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologists with gross examination and prosection of tissue for histological examination for surgical and autopsy pathology.
• Assist with intraoperative consultations, including fresh specimen and triage research tissue collection.
• Participate in the instruction of residents, fellows, and students.
• Act as a key contact for pathologists, grossing and histology staff to identify problem areas and recommend workflow changes.
