Job summary

The City of Durham is seeking a Part-Time Participatory Budgeting Communications & Engagement Analyst to support marketing, content creation, and outreach for Durham's PB program. This 25-hour-per-week role emphasizes in-person community engagement with some remote work possibilities.

You will produce videos, graphics, flyers, posts, and stories; help maintain PB branding; assist with newsletters, events, and website updates; attend meetings and events to gather content; and organize digital

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, communications, community development, planning, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Two years of related experience.
• Valid NC Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Create short videos, reels, graphics, flyers, social media posts, and other promotional materials.
• Capture and edit photos and videos at PB events and community activities.
• Help maintain consistent PB messaging and branding across materials and platforms.
• Assist with social media planning, website updates, newsletters, and event promotion.
• Attend community events to share program information, engage residents, and collect content.
• Support canvassing, tabling, presentations, and other outreach activities.
• Develop resident stories and project highlights that demonstrate PB’s community impact.
• Organize digital files and track the performance of communications and outreach efforts
