Job summary

Early Childhood Collaborative of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Shelton is seeking a part-time Parent Ambassador to bridge families with the local early childhood community. The role involves welcoming new families, sharing resources, and coordinating meetings, workshops, and community events to boost family engagement and student success.

The ideal candidate is a current or former parent/guardian with strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Must be a parent, grandparent, or guardian with lived experience in Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, or Shelton.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and empathetic communication.
• Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple tasks and coordinate events or initiatives.
• Knowledge of local community resources is a plus.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new families and help them integrate into the community by sharing information and resources.
• Organize and facilitate regular parent meetings, community outreach events, workshops, and informational sessions on family engagement and student success.
• Collaborate with Community Table members to support initiatives and events.
• Provide monthly updates to Community Table on outreach activities and family needs.
• Encourage parent participation in school activities, volunteering, and decision-making processes.
