Job summary

New Haven Public Schools is seeking a Family Advocate to engage families as partners in children's healthy development and school readiness. You will support families with self-identified goals, provide intensive weekly contact, and coordinate community resources while maintaining accurate records and reporting.

The role involves working with Head Start services, collaborating with health and education teams, and promoting family leadership within the program.

Qualifications

• Associate's or BA in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or related field preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Experience assisting parents of young children to advocate for families.
• Experience working in low income diverse communities preferred.
• Bilingual/Multilingual is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promote family environments that enhance children's development.
