Job summary

Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc in Bridgeport, CT seeks a Family Advocate to support coordinated family services within the Early Learning Division. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field plus at least one year of experience in Human Services.
• Family Development Credential plus at least two years experience in Human Services.
• Within 18 months of hire, Family Advocates must obtain the Family Development Credential or Certification in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field.
• Experience and willingness to provide services to culturally diverse communities/families.
• Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of various processes, including database management, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, and email.
• A Connecticut driver’s license and a good driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and enrollment of Early Learning Division children and families.
• Assist the family in improving conditions and quality of family life through home visits and development plans.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of social services, health, and family engagement activities.
• Ensure data entry into Child Plus and other data collection systems.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate services for assigned families.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and community events; pursue training as needed.
